Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

We collect the following information when you use Routr:

  • Account information: your email address and hashed password when you sign up.
  • Domain configuration: the domain name and forwarding email address you provide.
  • Billing information: your subscription status. Payment details (card numbers, etc.) are processed and stored by Stripe — we never see or store them.
  • Usage data: basic server logs (IP address, request timestamps) for security and debugging.

2. How We Use It

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and operate the email forwarding service
  • Process payments and manage your subscription
  • Send transactional emails (receipts, account alerts)
  • Respond to support requests
  • Detect and prevent abuse

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Email Content

Routr is a forwarding service. We do not store, read, or index the content of emails that pass through the service. Emails are forwarded in real time by ImprovMX.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following sub-processors to deliver the Service:

  • ImprovMX — email forwarding infrastructure. Your domain name and forwarding address are shared with ImprovMX to configure forwarding.
  • Stripe — payment processing. Governed by Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
  • Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure. Data is stored in the EU (or your configured region).

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. When you cancel or your account is deleted, your domain configuration is removed from ImprovMX and your account data is deleted within 30 days. Billing records may be retained longer as required by law.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing support@routr.email. If you are in the EU or UK you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Cookies

We use only functional cookies required to maintain your authenticated session. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and role-based database access. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure — use Routr at your own risk.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you by email or in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
